“The Eastside Good Careers Center is a welcomed addition to the Ella Austin Campus,” explains Hargrove, ” We are honored to have received this award and grateful for this partnership which is providing even more opportunities for our residents.”

The Eastside Good Careers Center is one of 13 in San Antonio which offers training, education, employment and other support services. According to Mark Milton with Goodwill Industries of San Antonio, since April the Eastside Center has served over 300 people. In addition, he says they offered a Certified Nurse’s Aide course for 15 students and are currently offering a Child Development Training course and this past July they added another key partner, Each One Teach One.

Goodwill has remained constant in their mission to help individuals overcome barriers and improve their lives. Starting with a simple shoe repair factory in 1946, over the years Goodwill has expanded and strengthened their delivery of services through their Good Careers Academies, Good Career Centers, Contract Services and the Veterans Resource and Career Center.
